Post-Election Congratulations

The whole team at Y Station would like to congratulate Mayor-elect Amarjeet Sohi on his historic election. His election, and indeed the election the council as a whole — including eight women (a record in Edmonton’s history and a good portion of the women ever elected to City Council) and more overall diversity is a closer reflection of the true Edmonton. There is still so much work to do, but we are proud of the choices Edmontonians have made as we build this exceptional city. Edmonton has a wonderful four years ahead of it.

We also want to recognize one of our own at the same time. For the last six months, Y Station Strategist Ann Gordon-Tighe took on a communications co-leadership role (along with pal of the company Adam Rozenhart) focused on communications strategy and content development – an absolutely huge and complicated job on a city-wide campaign. She managed to do all of this on her own time, while still doing fantastic work with her Y Station clients. We are beside ourselves with joy to see Ann’s work ethic, strategic chops, campaign smarts and sense of humour make such an indelible mark on the campaign to elect Edmonton’s first South Asian mayor.

We love it when we our team members get a chance to do big things – within the company and outside of it – and it doesn’t get much bigger than what Ann has helped accomplish.

Congratulations Ann, we are very proud of you!
